Children and sports. How to teach a child to play sports?

From birth to one year

Exercising with mom. The first thing that pediatricians around the world recommend is to do infant gymnastics literally from the cradle. Perhaps morning exercises will seem too easy to you, but this is an invaluable contribution to the development of the baby. Complicate it with age, encourage the child’s physical activity, encourage him to crawl, walk, and get involved in outdoor games that he initiates.

Breast swimming . Scientists have been writing about its benefits since the 1970s. Since then, this physical activity has turned from a curiosity into a favorite activity for mother and baby. You can bathe your child at home as soon as the umbilical wound heals. Once your child reaches two months of age, you will be welcomed to special classes in shallow baths, and from six months onwards, you will be welcomed in a special swimming pool.

Baby yoga. Suitable if you yourself want to exercise with your baby. Under the guidance of a trainer, you will toss and stretch your mini-yogi, and at the same time learn to relax yourself. You will definitely like child's pose, we promise.

Fencing

Perhaps fencing is one of the most graceful and noble sports. He will teach the child to control himself and not give way to emotions: the rules of the fight must be observed, because it is fought with the use of weapons. If you see that your child is already able to act according to a certain sequential pattern and does it quickly, then at the age of 6-8 years he can be enrolled without a section.

This sport belongs to the group of universal ones: both girls and boys can achieve unprecedented heights in it and, in addition, compete against each other. During the next game, the child is always concentrated, working not only physically, but also mentally. His task is to figure out weaknesses and develop his own tactics.

From one to three years

Give freedom of movement. As soon as the child begins to actively crawl, let him go free swimming: at home and away - on the floor and on the playground (stock up on pants and tights - they will be wiped clean). Is the child driven by an interest in research? That's wonderful, give way. Your job is to keep her safe. Remove small items from access areas and screw chests of drawers to the wall.

Look for sports everywhere. Set up a physical education corner at home or set up an “Early Start” type pyramid. Walk with your baby as much as possible, take a ball with you, master a balance bike, scooter, or bicycle. Don’t ignore the sports grounds: there are horizontal bars and interesting exercise equipment even for the little ones!

A good option is to install a home sports and gaming complex.
Imagine how much joy a child will have when he gets such a bright playground from the Fairy online toy store . The baby’s physical activity will immediately increase significantly.
Along with this, fantasy will also develop. See all the fun activities you can do at this sports complex. Slide down the wavy slide and try to climb again. Swing on a rocker in the shape of a comfortable chair. Climb up and down a climbing wall. A sports and gaming center can be installed in the courtyard of the house. And in the summer, take it with you to the dacha. The complex, like a construction set, is quickly assembled and disassembled. If desired, you can use one slide or assemble only a swing. At two or three years old, your baby can play sports right at home, develop coordination and dexterity.

Sports must be present in the life of every child at the age of 6! Even if your child cannot attend the section due to health reasons, be sure to take him to the exercise therapy group.

From three to five years

All doors are open for three-year-olds. Well, okay, not all, but now you can count on sections - children at this age are already old enough to exercise under the supervision of a coach. Don't miss the moment: at 3-4 years old it is good to develop flexibility and coordination of movements. Take a closer look at dancing, aerobics, acrobatics, rhythmic gymnastics, and tennis. Meanwhile, drink your coveted coffee - in peace!

Sports for preschoolers

Is it worth looking for a sports club for a preschooler? Pediatricians, child psychologists and physiotherapists unanimously recommend physical education:

  • a city child who most of the time is confined to the confines of an apartment;
  • a child who often suffers from colds;
  • a child who is overly interested in computers.

All other categories of children will also benefit greatly from sports activities. Sports sections for children 5 years old are most often rhythmic gymnastics, swimming, and sports dancing. Here the baby will be taught to better control his body, maintain balance, and navigate in space. This kind of activity is enjoyable and interesting for five-year-old children. They include elements of a fun game, gambling competition - something that corresponds to the age and psychological characteristics of a preschooler.

Sports clubs for children are not only the best way to improve their health. Classes in sports associations develop a love for active recreation and focus on a healthy lifestyle. By enrolling a child in a sports club, parents give him a great start to health for life.

From five years to infinity

Younger preschoolers want not only to study, but also to communicate with other children. Well, it's time for group sections and team sports. Playing football, hockey, volleyball or basketball develops in a child not only endurance and good reaction, but also communication skills. If the child is a clear introvert, pay attention to martial arts and athletics. From the age of 7 you can put your child on skates and skis.

Sports for school children

School age is the time to get involved in sports. Many schools have sections where children can study with classmates. There are also clubs for children in schoolchildren’s homes, where classes are held completely free of charge. In addition, schoolchildren can go to a section from specialized sports schools, where they prepare for admission to sports boarding schools.

The choice of sports for school-age children is truly great. Already in the first grade, children can practice at a professional level, preparing for a sports career. Thanks to the national program “Sport is the norm of life,” it is planned to build dozens of sports facilities throughout the country until 2024 to attract schoolchildren to a healthy lifestyle.

How much sport should there be in a child's life?

A two- or three-year-old child needs half an hour of organized physical activity with his parents a day. It is difficult for him to maintain attention, so break half an hour into three ten-minute periods: play with a ball and tag in the morning, dance in the afternoon, jump on a hard surface in the evening.

From three to five years old, a child already needs an hour of targeted training. We recommend submitting it to any of the sections listed above.

The older the child, the more sports there should be in his life. At first, he will only engage with you - during games and walks. Do not forget to increase the time of walks - already from the age of one year they can reach 2-3 hours. Remember that only you can set the best example: organize weekend bike and ski trips, go ice skating and roller skating, pitch tents in the forest and climb mountains with the whole family. You'll see: spending time together will benefit not only your health!

Part 1

I think I'm lucky. The worst dream of all pregnant women - to recover after childbirth - remains a nightmare. I left the maternity hospital weighing less than before pregnancy. But! The body condition was far from ideal. The stomach is flabby, the buttocks are “extinct”, the arms and legs are thin and lifeless...

When the first shock of the screaming baby in my arms passed, I thought: what to do?! The doctor strictly forbade any physical activity in the next two months, but kamon! Women's ingenuity will find a way out of any stalemate!

As soon as I could go for a walk with the baby, I put on sneakers and tights and drove the stroller into the park, on my usual running distance. To diversify the monotonous walking, I turned on an audiobook. Here are three useful things for you at the same time! As a result, for the first few weeks such walks became my only, but extremely useful, sports activity. Firstly, the stroller with the child weighed about 20 kg, i.e. walking with additional weight. Secondly, there were at least two such walks of one and a half to two hours a day, which means that I walked about 20 km! Now that I remember, I’ll shudder =) The result is that my thighs have noticeably tightened, my butt has regained its elasticity, and my “breath” has regained its former stamina.

At the same time, at home, I managed to pump up my arms using a Shake weight vibrating dumbbell. It was given to my husband, but he considered that THIS was not a dumbbell, and put it out of sight, until suddenly the sports device came in handy. Vibration provides a basic load on the entire torso, in particular on the abdominal muscles, chest, and deltoid muscles of the shoulders. The description also says that the principle of operation of the dumbbell is based on inertial resistance, which must be overcome by the muscles to complete the full cycle of the exercise. This effect is achieved due to the vibration of the dynamic parts of the dumbbell, which makes the muscles work much more intensely. In any case, for the first few days I had a sore throat, and during the two months when it was impossible to play sports, my dumbbell did its job - I put the muscles of my arms and shoulders in order. Yes, yes, don’t flatter yourself. Although the dumbbell looks simple, it’s not so easy to “vibrate” for a minute on each hand, as in the training video =)

And another secret exercise that allowed you to train your abdominal muscles and tighten your stomach was Uddiyana Bandha from yoga practice. At first I did it lying down, then standing, several times a day.

And, girls, don't forget about Kegel exercises!!! Google it =)

Class expenses

When choosing a section, you need to take into account your financial capabilities. Some activities are quite expensive. Tennis, hockey, skiing and horse riding will require significant investments. This includes renting sites, paying for individual training, and expensive equipment.

For example, the cost of equipment for a young slope conqueror reaches $1,000. A set of uniforms and protection for a little hockey player costs $300. Add clubs that cost $100 and break all the time. Please also keep in mind that you need to buy equipment every year as your child grows.

The same badminton, football, basketball or athletics will cost much less.
